With Chef’s birthday less than a month away, I was browsing the internet this week for gift ideas. And while I tried hard to focus on the mission at hand, I kept opening new windows to Mother Day’s gift guides. An hour later, I had filled up a board on Pinterest with wishful pins and still had nothing sorted for his special day. Though I need nothing more than big cuddles and an original Mother’s Day card from my daughter, I never oppose a wrapped gift from my hubby.
The joys of online shopping is that there is still time to drop hints and have a shipped gift arrive by Sunday, May 10th. Here are 12 gift ideas from my (ever-growing) wish list:
1) Traveller, Eyewear, by Toms – $68.00
You only have eyes for your sweet family. So keep your focus on your loved ones through these retro lenses. Surely their bright colors will make running errands and driving carpool more fun. Toms continues to expand its brand beyond the signature canvas shoes, but giving back to those in needs is still its mission. I enjoy giving a gift that not only makes a loved one smile, but pays it forward to those with much less.
2) Framed Prints, by Print Studio (formally Printstagram) $60.00
Instagram is taking over the world, and your camera photos are taking up all your available cloud storage. The upside of digital photography, you can snap away and edit the keepers. The downside, you so rarely print any of the memories to admire outside your phone’s window. Print Studio is the answer for printing those insta-memories in collages, books, and even stickers. I love these framed prints which allow you to make a collage of some of your favourite insta-moments. #Brilliant #Framer **Deadline for Mother’s Day is TONIGHT- eeks! Perhaps you can print a copy of final proof to wrap!)
3) Baggu Leather Totes, by West Elm SPECIAL $119.99
Would any mother ever say no to a new tote? Especially these from West Elm. Not this mama. These are sure to make carting kids’ toys and snacks around town, hip.
4) XO Bangle, by Banana Republic- $45.00
Diamonds might be a girl’s best friend, but I would welcome any new piece to my jewelry box. I love a good cuff bracelet and find the XO bracelet by Banana Republic is a sweet reminder to mom of how much she is loved.
5) The Grey Collection, by Tealeaves – $79.85
I love a fragrant cup of tea as much as a strong cup of coffee. Tealeaves beautifully packaged teas will delight any tea aficionado. Tell mom to invite a best friend for a perfect cup and girly chat, while you take the kids out for the afternoon. Mommy time— bliss.
6) 4-in-1 lens for iPhone 6 and 6s, by Olloclip, $79.99
More and more my go to camera is my iPhone6. With phone cameras becoming more sophisticated, welcome the Olloclip which allows you to take wide angle, macro and fisheye. A perfect gift for a photographer enthusiast.
7) Back to Black, Aphrodisiac, Eau de Parfum, L’Oeuvre Noire, by Kilian – $160.00
There is perfume, and then there is Kilian. The tobacco aroma with sweet honey undertones are delicate and sensual. A signature scent that makes heads turns and ask for the perfume’s name. Kilian is available in Saks Fifth Avenue and in their stores (London, New York, Paris, Moscow and Lugano).
8) Adventure Cosmetic Bag, by Paper Source – $24.95
As a mother, I look for adventure in everything Ouisie and I do. The sunny yellow color of this bag just makes me smile and want to carpe diem! A new cosmetic bag is always a welcomed gift. For an added touch, add a gift card to Sephora.
9) Dani Earrings in Periwinkle, by Kendra Scott – $52.00
A new pair of Kendra Scott earrings will always be a winning gift. I adore the periwinkle colour as it exudes fun in the summer sun. Cue the sunshine.
10) Abroad Rancher Hat, Anthropologie $58.00
With the summer sun returning, and long hours at the pool and parks, fight off those wrinkles and look fashionable with this swanky hat by Anthropologie. Headed to the French Riviera and don’t speak a word of French? Ne t’inquiète pas. You will look so chic wearing this hat, you might pass as a local fashionista.
